Acceptance of terms

By using the bellySignal app or website, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the app or the website.

These terms apply together with our Privacy Policy. Please read both.

What bellySignal is

bellySignal is an informational gut-health tracking app for iOS and Android, together with this website. The app lets you log things like bowel movements, urine observations, water intake, food triggers, and notes, all stored on your own device, so you can notice patterns over time.

The website provides general information about the app and the topic of gut health.

Not medical advice

bellySignal does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. It is not a medical device. Using the app does not create a doctor-patient or any other professional relationship between you and bellySignal.

The information in the app and on the website is for general awareness only. It can help you notice patterns, but it cannot tell you what is wrong. If something concerns you, or a possible warning sign appears, consult a doctor or qualified health professional. In an emergency, contact your local emergency services.

Use at your own risk

You use bellySignal at your own risk and are responsible for any decisions you make based on it. The app is a tool for self-observation, not a source of medical guidance.

Do not delay seeking professional care, ignore medical advice, or stop a treatment because of anything you see in the app.

Your data and your device

bellySignal is local-first. Your logs are stored only on your device and are not uploaded to us. Because of this, you are responsible for your device and for any backups.

If you lose, reset, or replace your device, or delete the app, your data may be lost, since we do not hold a copy. You can also permanently delete all of your data yourself from Settings, then Your data, then Delete all data.

Intellectual property

The bellySignal name, brand, app, website, text, design, and other content are owned by bellySignal or its licensors and are protected by applicable laws. You may use the app and website for your own personal, non-commercial use.

You may not copy, redistribute, modify, or create derivative works from our content without permission, except where the law allows it.

No warranty

bellySignal is provided on an as is and as available basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. To the extent permitted by law, we do not guarantee that the app or website will be accurate, uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, bellySignal and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the app or website.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence where that applies.

Changes to the service and these terms

We may change, update, or discontinue parts of the app or website at any time. We may also update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page, and continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the applicable laws that pertain to you and to the operation of bellySignal. Where mandatory consumer protection laws apply in your country of residence, those protections remain unaffected.
