About bellySignal and our editorial policy

bellySignal is an app for logging bowel movements, urine color, water intake and foods that may affect digestion. This page explains who publishes it and how our articles are sourced, updated and corrected.

Who we are

bellySignal is made and published by Picko, a company registered in the Republic of Korea. Our business registration details and contact information are listed at the bottom of every page and at the end of this one.

What our articles are for

Our articles explain common questions about bowel habits, urine and hydration in plain language, and show what is worth writing down before you talk to a clinician.

They are general information. They do not diagnose a condition, recommend a treatment, or replace advice from a doctor, pharmacist or dietitian.

Sources

Health information in our articles is based on public health and clinical sources, such as the US National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK), the UK National Health Service (NHS), US FDA drug labels, and academic medical centers. Articles that compare apps or programs are based on their public store listings and official product pages. The sources are listed at the end of every article, and the article stays within what those sources support.

Articles about symptoms include the warning signs that need prompt medical care.

Medical review

Our articles are not reviewed by a doctor or another licensed health professional. If something in an article differs from advice you have received from your own clinician, follow your clinician.

Updates and corrections

Every article shows the date it was last updated. We revise articles when their sources change, when the app changes, or when a reader reports an error.

To report a mistake, email support@bellysignal.com. We check the article against its sources and correct it if needed.

Our interest in the app

bellySignal is our own product, and our articles mention it. When an article compares tracking apps, bellySignal is one of the apps being compared, and the other apps are described from their public store listings.

Languages

Articles are published in several languages. Each language version relies on the same sources as the English version.
